Learning with Baking/Cooking

Baking and cooking provide lots of skills for little ones. Its important to include them with your cooking so they can have fun and learn :)

Today baking lesson (Aug 6th, 2011) Baking a Cake! She had a blast making this cake. I think her favorite part was decorating it!! 

Today baking lesson (Aug 4th, 2011) A hot summer day, Lets make Ice Cream Art! We went to the store and went on a hunt for supplies to make it. We grabbed Vanilla Ice Cream (Maddie wanted to start eating in the store she was so excited), food coloring, 4 different bottles of sprinkles (Maddie picked what ones she wanted). Once we got home she was excited to make Ice Cream Art :) ( Nut topping we already had at home) This activity was great for learning her colors!! AS well as have lots of fun! We definitely plan on doing this again while the hot weather is around!

She just added all the different food colorings, she loved watching them blend together with the ice cream.

Mixing the colors to see what it would turn into. I think she put a lot of green in there, so it was mostly green.

After playing for a little while, she HAD to have a bite!!! YUMMY!! :)
